Swiss Swimwear made out of lost Fishing Nets

The Zurich label Neumühle presents its latest collection: consistently sustainable swimwear made from lost fishing nets. Designed in Zurich, made in Lugano. The launch will take place via Kickstarter, where the pieces can be pre-ordered until Saturday 11th May 2019.

„Used fishing nets make up 30 to 50 percent of the marine pollution.“ - According to WWF report

What can we do with this waste? The founders Edith and Andreas Fehr asked themselves this question when developing the net swimwear collection «VON ALICE». It is made from regenerated fishing nets and nylon waste. The nets are collected worldwide, cleaned and processed into nylon yarn, so-called ECONYL®.

The net swimwear is made by Alice in Switzerland. Since 1990 she runs her business in Lugano. Her team manufactures the pieces locally in the Ticino region of Switzerland. By working with a local Swiss manufacturer we are able to reduce CO2 emissions substantially, while supporting the local industry.

The design of the Net-Suit «VERZASCA» and the Net-Shorts «MAGGIA» is minimalistic, timeless and dedicated to functionality and durability .

Because of our sustainable production methods we use resources sparingly and reduce waste in the sea.
