THE FUTURE IS CIRCULAR

Situation report
The eco-balance of the textile industry is worrying. It produces ten percent of global CO2 emissions. Fast fashion is no longer sustainable: we need alternatives. What happens to our clothes when they reach the end of their life cycle? They end up in landfills or are sold to developing countries. Only one percent is recycled in a textile-to-textile format (Source: Federal Office for the Environment FOEN). Circular, innovative, and sustainable solutions are in higher demand than ever. We need products that do not rely on fossil resources in primary production and cause as few greenhouse gases as possible during manufacturing.

Our contribution
With the CIRCLE JACKET BY ADA, we are setting a milestone on the path toward future-proof and sustainable textile production.
Our method
1) Designed for circularity
All components of the CIRCLE JACKET are obtained from mono-materials. The design was created so that they can be separated back into their original materials. This allows us to ensure pure material flows that enable reuse at the end of the life cycle, or allow them to be processed into materials of equal quality. This closes the circle of the CIRCLE JACKET BY ADA. With our take-back program, we guarantee the reuse of all materials.
This product aims to achieve a paradigm shift toward durable and recyclable products. The future is circular. And our CIRCLE JACKET is the first step toward it.

2) Local origin and regional production:
Yes, there is a jacket that hasn't been flown around the globe twice: all components of our CIRCLE JACKET are produced within a production radius of 400 km in the heart of Europe. The tailoring of the jacket takes place in Alice and Susanne’s workshop here in Switzerland. The collection’s name is dedicated to the seamstress Ada, who is also responsible for the careful execution of our Net-Swimwear.

3) Made from organic and recycled materials:
For the inner lining, we knocked on the doors of major Italian brands and are using their surplus nylon, breathing new life into the remnants from their seasonal collections (so-called "dead stock"). We limited ourselves exclusively to black fabrics. Nevertheless, slight variations in the inner lining may occur from jacket to jacket.
We produce our snap buttons in collaboration with Prym Eco Green. Only materials made from organic PE are used. The natural resource is obtained one hundred percent from sugarcane, thus revolutionizing the practice for this textile component. By using natural materials, we avoid the use of fossil raw materials and the resulting
greenhouse gas emissions. Our sugarcane snap buttons are manufactured in Germany and are one hundred percent recyclable.
The warm winter jacket is equipped with PrimaLoft® Silver Insulation. Consequently, 70% of our lining consists of recycled polyester. Over the coming months, this share will be increased to 100% in collaboration with our manufacturer. PrimaLoft® is not just a synthetic alternative to conventional down feathers—the state-of-the-art lining provides moisture-resistant protection against the cold in high-quality outdoor clothing and is also manufactured in Southern Germany.
The circle is closed by the windproof outer fabric. It consists of regenerated fishing nets and nylon remnants. The material, which is produced under strict quality criteria and sold under the ECONYL® brand, is woven for us according to our highest quality standards in Como (Italy).

4) Guaranteed durability:
With our take-back program, we give jackets at the end of their life cycle a new life and repair them free of charge for up to five years after purchase. If even a patch no longer helps, the individual parts are separated and subsequently reused or recycled. To encourage returns, the customer receives 20 percent off their next purchase. One less jacket ending up in landfills or flooding the import flow of used clothing into developing countries.
